Designed by Piero Lissoni, the Cassina MEX Sofa is a simple system that allows a wide range of combinations which is made up of simple soft cushions that provide robust and correct support. Components without arms, with one arm-rest (either left of right) and corner units. There is also a long seating unit to go with the other components and a chaise-longue to stand alone. The upholsterd sections are contained within a visible wooden shell-like framework that comes in dark stained oak or white lacquer. The system allows upholstered "island" be formed with handy table-top surface and container units that can run alonge three sides. Coverings are complitely removable. Internal frame is in steel and differentiated CFC-free plyurethane foam. The padding is in feather or polyester wadding.
