Charles & Ray Eames presented the designs for the Plastic Chair group at the "Low Cost Furniture Design" competition held by the Museum of Modern Art in New York. In 1950, they were the first industrially manufactured plastic chairs to be brought to market. With or without padding, the organically moulded shells offer a high level of comfort. The colour of the cover fabric and the seat shell can be mixed and matched. Together with a choice of bases, there is a wide range of possible combinations to choose from.
